Tasmanian Running Festival launched in Launceston today

The 2017 B&E Tasmanian Running Festival, incorporating the B&E Launceston Ten, was officially launched in Launceston this morning.

The event attracts not only the best local and national athletes, but has also attracted many international athletes throughout the history of the event.

For the first time, this year’s race will start and finish in Launceston’s City Park. The iconic city landmark will also host a weekend Festival beginning on the Saturday, offering food and beverages from local producers, with live entertainment also on offer, as well as a Kids Clinic on the Saturday.

It was also announced that star local athletes Josh Harris and Kate Pedley will be ambassadors for this year’s event.

The Tasmanian Running Festival will once again cater for all age groups and abilities. Along with the 10K, there will be a  5km race, as well as the popular Kids 2K.

Give Me 5 For Kids will also benefit as the local charity partner for this year’s event.

B&E Personal Banking is committed to promoting happy, healthy Tasmanian communities,” said B&E CEO, Paul Ranson.

“As a sponsor, we are excited by the changes being made to reinvigorate the Launceston Ten, now in its 11th year, and we encourage everyone to get involved in Australia’s leading Fun Run this Winter,” Mr Ranson added.

The B&E Launceston Ten is Australia’s richest and fastest 10km road race, and is set down for Sunday, 18th June, 2017.
